and then the storm hit

In church this morning we talked about Luke 8:22-25. It's the story about the storm that hits while the disciples were in a boat crossing the lake. Jesus was asleeep during it all. A life-threatening storm and he was asleep. how does that even happen?
Jesus asked them to get in the boat (something they'd done a million times before), they got in and started sailing. They asked no questions and required no additional instructions. They knew how to do this, yet the scariest storm they'd ever experienced happened. They were literally spinning out of control and although they were expereienced sea-men they couldn't handle this on their own. Lucky for them, and me, Jesus knows. And it is not out of his control. They will get to the other side of the lake this time.
