Go Bruins!

despite my own heavy burdens I was thrilled to cheer (from my sofa) UCLA to victory against Belmont in the first round of the NCAA tourney.

I've not been myself. i've been in a hard place.

my grandpa had a massive stroke on Monday night. He laid on his floor in his own house all night unable to move because he was paralyzed on his left side. I'm tentatively making plans to miss my finals to be at home with him and my family. of course no one wants someone they love to die, but i especially would have a very hard time recovering from it right now.
He needs healing like only the maker can give.

I came across this song by Jill Phillips on my friend James' blog
It's been a great comfort to me.

Oh gently lay your head
Upon my chest
And I will comfort you like a mother while you rest
And the tide can change so fast
But I will stay
The same through past the same in future the same today

I am constant
I am near
I am peace that shatters all your secret fears
I am holy
I am wise
I’m the only one who knows your heart’s desires
Your heart’s desires

Oh weary tired and worn
Let out your sighs
Drop that heavy load you hold cause mine is light
And I know you through and through
There’s no need to hide
I want to show you love that is deep and high and wide
